If I could have done away with a day in my life, yesterday would have been the one. It was one of thoughs days that every thing went wrong! My fleet manager told me I was idling too much. He wanted me to stop. Well, I tell you, not running the heat in Green Bay Wi.'s sub zero temp. is not what I signed on for. So I idled last night. If they want to fire me for that, have at it. At first, I tried to get under all the covers I had and not idle, but I started to look like Papa Smirf. I gave up on the idea when my teeth would not stop hitting each other.
I am now in St. Louis and have signed up for a service called Idle-Aire. It is really unique! They put this big tube in your passenger window and you set what temp. you want. You can also hook up to the internet, watch movies, or watch tv. The service is not cheap but what is these days?
I drove most of the day to get here so I am feeling a little tired. I will try to post more soon. Remember that Thanksgiving is coming soon. Keep that spirit when you are on the highway and give way to the bad drivers that are out there.

Sounds like you need a mummy down bag....ARMY SURPLUS and not expensive. They work great and really keep you toasty in real cold weather. I used one when doing the Applachin(sp) Trail.(Unfortunately I gave mine away years ago....sorry!!) The secret is that you take off outter layer of clothes and body heat heats up bag and keeps you sooo warm!!!! Something else that helps is that you keep clothes to be worn the next day in bag when you sleep and change in the bag. Clothes are warm and you are pretty warm when you come out of bag fully dressed...or almost fully dressed!!!!
Oh you could get goose down bags from places like LL Bean but would cost a large fortune compared to Army Surplus. Under conditions you are having to work, esp during the winter and "No idling",,,,sooooo stupid, the bag may be more appropriate than a refridgerator.(Awful to talk about such extremes)
See you soon!!!!
Did you ake it all the way to Memphis????
BTW,,you can buy them new or used. The new are more expensive but did not like the idea of sleeping in something others had slept in!!! let me try Appalachin again. Refuse to use preview cause afraid I might not be able to post!!!!
Had to register again!!! Almost didn't do it because stuff I have to say is not that important!!!
I am soooooo used to looking for new blogs from you and even though you are home...would love to still see a blog or two...like what is happening to the truck, what was your route home, when do you take off, does it cost to park truck, when will you get home for Christmas and how long will you get to stay???? Are you packing clothes for warm and also for cold weather?????
Besides my questions, I bet you have some things you would like to say in looking back over your experiences...some good and some bad...hope you are getting some much needed rest,,,but don't get too used to home and hearth :-) Home time is not near long enough!!!! SYS See yu soon!!!
